Description
Component of the p-aminobenzoyl-glutamate hydrolase multicomponent enzyme system which catalyzes the cleavage of p-aminobenzoyl-glutamate (PABA-GLU) to form p-aminobenzoate (PABA) and glutamate. AbgAB does not degrade dipeptides and the physiological role of abgABT should be clarified.
