Plays a protective role against oxidative stress by restoring activity to proteins that have been inactivated by methionine oxidation. Prevents the methionine sulfoxidation of the heat shock protein HSP21 and its subsequent inactivation. MSRA family specifically reduces the MetSO S-enantiomer.
