Description
Probable very long-chain fatty acid (VLCFA) elongase that controls VLCFA composition and functions to inhibit abscisic acid (ABA)-mediated stress responses, including regulation of stomatal aperture, maintenance of primary root growth and inhibition of germination. VLCFA pathway and products may function as signaling components acting upstream of sphingosine-1-phosphate, ceramide and the heterotrimeric G-protein complex, in lipid-mediated regulation of abiotic stress signaling.
Family
Belongs to the ELO family.
