Alpha-galacturonidase able to catalyze the hydrolysis of the chromogenic substrate p-nitrophenyl-alpha-D-galacturonic acid (pNPalphaGalUA). It is probable that alpha-1,4-di-galacturonate (GalUA(2)) is the naturally occurring substrate.
