Protein
Holliday junction ATP-dependent DNA helicase RuvA
Organism
Pseudarthrobacter chlorophenolicus (strain ATCC 700700 / DSM 12829 / CIP 107037 / JCM 12360 / KCTC 9906 / NCIMB 13794 / A6)
Function
The RuvA-RuvB complex in the presence of ATP renatures cruciform structure in supercoiled DNA with palindromic sequence, indicating that it may promote strand exchange reactions in homologous recombination. RuvAB is a helicase that mediates the Holliday junction migration by localized denaturation and reannealing. RuvA stimulates, in the presence of DNA, the weak ATPase activity of RuvB.
Similarity
Belongs to the RuvA family.
