rpfG

Gene
rpfG
Protein
Cyclic di-GMP phosphodiesterase response regulator RpfG
Organism
Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris (strain 8004)
Length
378 amino acids
Function
Member of the two-component regulatory system RpfG/RpfC, which is required for full virulence and for formation and dispersal of biofilms. Involved in sensing and responding to the diffusible signaling factor (DSF), which is essential for cell-cell signaling. Activated RpfG degrades cyclic di-GMP to GMP, leading to the activation of Clp, a global transcriptional regulator that regulates a large set of genes in DSF pathway. May also directly control genes involved in biofilm dispersal.
Mass
42.173 kDa
