Function
Essential fimbrial adhesion factor that mediates binding to N-acetylglucosamine-containing receptors in the host intestinal microvilli, leading to colonization of the intestinal tissue, and diarrhea or septicemia. Also confers adhesiveness to laminin and basement membranes (By similarity).
