Protein
Acyl-homoserine-lactone synthase
Organism
Pantoea stewartii subsp. stewartii
Function
Required for the synthesis of OHHL (N-(3-oxohexanoyl)-L-homoserine lactone), an autoinducer molecule which binds to EsaR. OHHL is necessary for biosynthesis of EPS virulence factor (extracellular heteropolysaccharide) which plays a role in the development of Stewart's wilt on sweet corn.
Similarity
Belongs to the autoinducer synthase family.
