Transcription factor that regulates the expression of the gene cluster that mediates the biosynthesis of the antibiotic 2,4- dihydroxy-3-methyl-6-(2-oxopropyl)benzaldehyde (DHMBA) and its derivatives (PubMed:23001671). Probably binds the conserved motif 5'-CT/CCG/AGA/CG/CT/A/CA/TT/A/GC-3' found in all dba cluster promoters and that shows significant similarities to the binding sites of other fungal C6 finger domain transcription factors (Probable).
