cnbA

Gene
cnbA
Protein
Chloronitrobenzene nitroreductase
Organism
Comamonas testosteroni
Length
227 amino acids
Function
Involved in the biodegradation of chlorinated nitroaromatic compounds. Catalyzes the reduction of 4-chloronitrobenzene to yield 1-hydroxylamino-4-chlorobenzene. Probably also able to catalyze the two-electron reduction of nitrobenzene (NB) to produce a nitrosobenzene (NOB) intermediate, which is immediately reduced to hydroxylaminobenzene (HAB) by a second two-electron transfer.
Similarity
Belongs to the nitroreductase family.
Mass
25.97 kDa

Organism
Dictyostelium discoideum
Length
180 amino acids
Function
Regulatory subunit of calcineurin, a calcium-dependent, calmodulin stimulated protein phosphatase (PubMed:11352578). Confers calcium sensitivity (PubMed:11352578). Important for stalk formation (PubMed:16512895).
Similarity
Belongs to the calcineurin regulatory subunit family.
