Protein
Potassium channel toxin alpha-KTx 3.5
Organism
Androctonus australis
Function
Has also been shown to inhibit with high potency Kv1.3/KCNA3 and with low potency Kv1.1/KCNA1 and Kv1.2/KCNA2 voltage-gated potassium channels (PubMed:7806508, PubMed:29483648). Also binds and inhibits the molluscan calcium-activated potassium channels KCa (Kd=135 nM) (PubMed:7806508).
Similarity
Belongs to the short scorpion toxin superfamily. Potassium channel inhibitor family. Alpha-KTx 03 subfamily.
