Controls expression of the MEP2 ammonium permease, the DUR1,2 urea amidolyase, and the transcription factor STP1, which in turn mediates SAP2 expression, a long-known virulence attribute of C.albicans. Influences the filamentation process depending upon the nitrogen sources available. Required for virulence in a mouse systemic infection model.
