Function
Involved in the biosynthesis of 6-O-methylglucose lipopolysaccarides (MGLPs) (PubMed:18221489, PubMed:19421329). Catalyzes the transfer of a glucose (Glc) moiety from uridine diphosphate (UDP-Glc) to the position 2 of 3-phospho-D-glycerate (3-PGA) to form glucosyl-3-phosphoglycerate (GPG) (PubMed:18221489, PubMed:19421329). It can use UDP-glucose, ADP-glucose and GDP-glucose as donor substrates with decreasing affinity, and 3-PGA as an acceptor (PubMed:18221489). D-glycerate could only be the acceptor with ADP-glucose and at a very low rate (PubMed:18221489).
